Fall 2015 Zoya Focus and Flair

Ok, so today is going to be one of those days where the newsfeed is filled with ZOYA press releases.
Here is mine.
I have to say I love that they release the same colors in shimmers and crèmes.

The ones I am most looking forward to are Aggie, Giada, and Estelle.

What about you?

ZOYA FOCUS & FLAIR
Two exciting new Zoya Nail Polish collections arrive for FALL 2015

FOCUS (creams)
The Zoya Focus Collection features six strong, solid shades that anchor a look for fall as stand-alone shades. The densely pigmented cream formula features a unique, micro-grind pigment that allows for extra-smooth, streak-free application.
·          Charli (ZP807) - a dusty taupe cream with a hint of green, a perfect neutral.
·          Desiree (ZP806) - a classic sable brown cream that has just enough gray to keep it cool in tone.
·          Hannah (ZP805) – a clear, classic red cream with a balanced (neutral) undertone.
·          Janel (ZP804) - a deep red cream with a rich warm undertone.
·          Lidia (ZP803) - a rich eggplant cream with a blackened purple base and just a hint of red resulting in a color that is wearable for most skin tones.
·         Sia (ZP802) - a true, royal blue cream. NOTE: This is a highly pigmented shade - make sure to apply a base coat to prevent staining.
FLAIR (metallics)
Six, jewel toned liquid metal shades. The unique, micro-grind metallic pigment of the Zoya Flair Collection is fully blended into a vibrant base, creating the effect of brilliant colored melted metal!
·          Tris (ZP813) - a blackened, brushed nickel liquid metal.
·          Cinnamon (ZP812) - a classic bronze liquid metal, originally designed for Zang Toi NYFW F/W15.
·          Aggie (ZP811) - a gold holo-flip, liquid metal with bronze micro glitter. Sheer enough for layering with one coat or fully opaque in three coats!
·          Ember (ZP810) - a deep, fiery red liquid metal with enough blue to be wearable for all skin tones.
·          Giada (ZP809) - a purple liquid metal with a hint of fuchsia pearl.
·         Estelle (ZP808) - a blue on blue liquid metal with a blackened base.

Zoya Paradise Sun

First off, these polishes were sent to me for my honest opinion.

This is the Zoya Summer Paradise Sun collection.
It consists of:
Genesis described as a crystalline white with a micronized metallic pearl finish - designed to look like micro-fine diamond dust! (my take: it's an odd bird, but an awesome one. The sparkles seem embedded, not on top.)
Selene described as a true teal with a micronized metallic pearl finish. A unique shade with an aqua fleck that resembles deeper layers of ocean water. (my take: This is an AMAZING green. I don't really see the teal, and yes, the sparkles run deep with this one.)
Oceane described as a true turquoise with a micronized metallic pearl finish that reflects the clearest blue ocean waters! (my take: it is a very beautiful more of a cobalt in person to me.)
Isa described as a deep blue-based purple with a micronized metallic pearl finish and an aqua flash that embodies the beauty of exotic island flowers! (my take: exactly as described, a deep purple with a blue flash)
Mae described as a warm magenta pink with a micronized metallic pearl finish, reminiscent of vibrant Mediterranean flowers (my take: a beautiful magenta with just the right amount of blue flash)
Aphrodite described as a vibrant summer red with a micronized pearl metallic finish and multi-hued flash that brings it to life. Think of fresh and juicy tropical fruit! (my take: more of a poppy orange.)

OK, THAT was a lot of words. A LOT... but you know what?
This collection is AMAZING!!! The colors are awesome, the sparkle is amazing, these were 1 heavy coaters/2 thin coaters. so sparkly, so beautiful.

My favorite is Selene BY FAR. I can see myself needing a back up bottle of this one. Followed by Ocean, then Isa.

The picture of Isa is blurry both to show the sparkle, and because when it would actually focus on it, the color was off. THIS is as close to true color as I can possibly get it.

They all have a sparkle like you wouldn't BELIEVE. My favorite polish for YEARS from Zoya by far is Sarah. a beautiful red sparkle. THESE have that same sparkle, and can see them being a part of my regular rotation.

These are available on zoya.com for $9 a piece.

Zoya Island Fun

Ok, first off, these were sent to me for my honest opinion.

Island fun is the crèmes of the collection.
The collection consists of:
Jace described as a muted lime
Cecilia described as a classic teal
Talia described as a true turquoise
Serenity described as a summer purple
Nana described as a deep summer fuchsia
Demetria describes as a vibrant poppy red

I found these to all be ALMOST one coaters.
If you did a careful, thick coat, it was a one coater.
I'd prefer to do 2 thinish coats for a better, more consistent wear.
My favorite BY FAR out of the entire collection was Serenity.
I have searched for a nice "one coater" like this FOREVER. It is a dark dusty lilac. I am in love with this color.
Nana is a very bright beautiful fuchsia. To be honest I am looking forward to having time to play with Serenity and Nana.
Ok, being COMPLETELY honest, all of these colors are so vibrant that I am looking forward to playing with all of them.
My LEAST favorite (but still a great color) is Demetria only because the color doesn't mesh well with my skin tone. It would be neat for accents in some nail art, though.

On to the quick swatches:

These are available on zoya.com for $9.
Keep watching for my nail art with them.
Next week, I will have Paradise Sun!!!

Zoya Delight

So this is the Zoya Delight collection.
These were sent to me for my honest opinion.

So the colors are:
Rayne described as a dewy, spring blue metallic with an energizing turquoise metallic flash.
Daisy described as a refreshing lemon meringue yellow metallic with an energizing turquoise metallic flash.
Leslie described as a soft spring lavender metallic with an energizing turquoise flash
Lillian described as a faded aquamarine with a glossy cream finish
Tiana described as a pistachio gelato green in a glossy cream finish
Eden described as a classic spring flower pink in a glossy cream finish
Click on the names above to go to zoya.com

Coverage on them was ok. The crèmes needed 2 good coats to be opaque, but as always they went on like butter. The "metallic" ones you can't really describe as metallic because the simply don't have THAT kind of flash. They definitely have a blue sparkle that makes them beautifully unique, but yeah...not metallic.
On to the colors.
I am not a fan of pastels...
They tend to wash me out.
THAT SAID, I really like Rayne and Leslie and Daisy. That turquoise flash is awesome. I've worn both of these several time. They are so sparkly and have depth.
The crèmes are nice. Like I said I'm not a huge fan of pastels, but these are nice. If you like these colors, then these would be right up your alley. They are not for me. Although if I had thought about it, I probably could have done a kick ass Easter mani with them... Hindsight and all.

On to the pictures!!!

Evangeline.

This is a polish from an older collection, and I don't know which one. I bought it when they had a sale. It is called Evangeline. I love it. I am not a pink wearer. but this is a deep berry, and I LOVE it.

Zoya Satins!!!

So here are the Zoya Satins.
These were sent to me for my honest opinion.

The Zoya Natural Satins are:
Leah described as a lavender tinged taupe cream.
Rowan described as a suede taupe cream.
Sage described as a mossy sage green cream.
Tove described as a misty slate grey cream.
Brittany described as a rose mauve cream.
Ana described as a light toasted almond cream.

I wanted so bad to love these. I love the idea of them. I like them a lot. But as you can see on the second picture, I just felt like I needed topcoat, but I refused to topcoat as THAT IS NOT THE POINT!!!
To be honest, they all seem WAY too muted.
The colors in person are not as vibrant as they are in pictures. Still pretty, but just muted.
They all went on like a dream, were smooth when I swatched them, beautiful colors. Although they did show every little imperfection in your nail bed. They are not too good for nail art, unfortunately. One thing I did LOVE about them is the finished texture. It's not matte, it wasn't anywhere near shiny. just...Satin is a perfect description.
On to the pictures:

These came out in January. They are available right now on Zoya.com for $9.

You're not supposed to put a basecoat, but I would NOT use without a ridge filler of some kind. and I would definitely not put a topcoat on over if wearing by themselves.

All in all I like them. Just wouldn't use them for nail art again.

Oldie but goody

Ok, so this is Catrice Beam me up Scotty with OPI Simmer and Shimmer over the top for an accent.

I haven't even thought of this polish in YEARS. I got most of my polish put up on my rack and finding all of these polishes I forgot existed. Hopefully I'll be featuring more old polishes.

Naturals and Jamberry

So this is one of my favorites. When the Zoya naturals first came out, I wasn't too into them. But the more I use them, the more I like them.

This is Zoya Naturals Aubrey, Brigette, Odette, and Rue with Jamberry Black and White Chevron.

Read about my jamberry experience here. :)
