Striping Brush

I painted my nails with Blaze accented with Seraphina (which happens to be my favorite whitish polish of all time) then took a striping brush and striped with Storm.

I wore this for NYE. I matched my make up. with it. :)

Dry Drag

This is an odd thing I learned from a friend, you take most of the polish off of the brush and put it on...
I was going to do it as a monkey see monkey do mani, but it didn't turn out how I wanted. She used pink and purple, I used Sailor, Neve, and Pepper.

Watercolor Tutorial!!!

So I've done a watercolor before. I got so many compliments on it I have done it 3 times since. Then I was asked to do a tutorial. So...Here it is. This is going to be a little wierd, but yeah...It's pretty easy!

First off, materials. You will need:
nails painted a base coat (I used Lavender Cloud)
a thick fast drying top coat (Seche)
as many colors as you want to watercolor (I used Kelly, Ibiza, and Tru)
a quarter inch paint brush (Or, the brush you use to clean up your mani)
Acetone

I know I have Dove pictured above, but I tried it with Dove and it was too light, I went with Kelly.
so a small dot of polish, take your art brush dip it in acetone, and with a light touch (as to not go through the seche, which I did a couple of times) move it around, make a design. Repeat with other colors.

Pretty easy, huh?

This is the finished product.

Try this!! It is incredibly easy!

Ladybugs!

I have a thing for ladybugs. I just find them interesting. They are tiny, and always busy, always seem to have a schedule, always on the move. I love them. When I was a kid, I used to sit under a huge ash tree in our back yard. It was ALWAYS covered with ladybugs.

So this is Julep Leighton, stamped with KleanColors Metallic Green, and hand drawn ladybugs. topped with Seche Vite :)

water colors...

Sarah @ Samariums Swatches did this AWESOME Water color mani. I LOVED IT!!!
(I like this better than marbling, I think)
So, I did my own version! This is Lavender Cloud with Spoild Toad-ally Amazing, CC Pucci-licious, and OPI Funky Dunkey.

Please ignore the angry cuticle. :( I have been chewing on my cuticles. I promise, I'll stop.

Then, I covered it with Northern Lights.

Tune in tomorrow for the other half of this mani...i like it more than this one.

Do you have a some polishes that will never, EVER leave your side?

Braided Matte

Last night, I was having a hard time getting inspired. So was Jeanie @ Midnight Manicures. She asked for suggestions. Again, the lovely Amanda showed us THIS Braided/Fishtail Nail Tutorial. I wanted to try it.

This is Zoya Dovima, Veruschka, and Savita.
OK, so the first nail did not turn out like I expected...This was using the polish brushes...
I had to rethink my execution.

AHH, THATS more like it!!! These were done with a brush a little thicker than a striping brush.
I see a christmas mani like this in my future!

and the finished product. one with Seche on top, and the crap nail.
This was relatively easy once I used the right tools!!!
