March Joie De Vivre Cravebox

Cravebox is a great sample service that I kind of lucked into in December. I LOVE this subscription service because it is not just beauty related, it is life related. Also, everyone gets the same thing. There is no filling out a profile, and everyone getting different boxes.

Right now it is beta, but I've read that they have big plans for April (including coming out of beta). I have never gotten a bad box, or a box that I was disappointed in. I am super excited!!! Click here to see my previous post on Cravebox.

So this months Cravebox:

First off, Puristics Intensive eye treatment. It's supposed to boost your skin's natural ability to produce collagen to lift and firm. (IOW, to help with those silly crows feet.)

Next is Organic Mighty Leaf Tea. I am a huge tea drinker. I love it. I drink it 2-3 times a day. They smelled incredible, and I am looking forward to trying them.

Next is Mercy. From what I understand this is like an energy drink of sorts. You drink it while drinking alcohol, and supposedly it helps with the morning after. I will have to get all toasty and try it out. Directions say you can use it as a mixer, between drinks, or at the end of the night, and that it can take on up to 5 drinks. It works by restoring nutrients and ridding your body of toxins. Might be worth a try.

Next is Mereadesso lip treats. I am a lip gloss/balm FREAK! These are silky smooth and have a bit of a citrus taste/smell to them. The accomanying card says This blend of vitamins, primrose, grape seed, coconut, and sunflower oils is the perfect primer.

Next up is NYX mascara. I like to try mascaras, but most don't like me. I wait until the weekend to try new mascaras. The card says this mascara has a distinct wand to deliver full lengthening and curled lashes. It came wrapped up in this lacy little sachet bag...

I am still in love with the service, and can't wait to see what they offer up next month!!!

March BirchBox

Ok, this is a little odd. Lets look at the card:

K, cool enough, lets look at the contents:

Ok, Oscar Blandi shampoo and conditioner. (check, check)

Talika Lash serum (check)

Avaha Essential Day Moisturizer? no...Apothederm Stretch Mark cream.

Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens? no...NIA 24 Skin Strengthening Complex.

Kumsi Detox Tea? No...a mini Color Club in He Loves Me.

K, so I'm not going to complain too much about not receiving what I was supposed to, because I did receive nail polish, but WTH? This was just weird. I haven't had a chance to test anything. The lash serum is going to my Mom. I will have to bribe her with something to get her to take pictures.

oooh, a franken, don't mind if I do!!!

My friend Sarah over at Samariums Swatches is a frankening fool!!! She made this. She calls it Pixie Sprinkles. I love it. The first time I saw her post a picture of it I told her I wanted it, and I basically bothered her until she sent me one. ;) j/k I wasn't expecting her to give me one, it just showed up in the mail one day out of the blue!!! I like it, I like it, a lot!

So after wearing it for 4 days, I got a new plate DRK-A, but I wasn't finished wearing Pixie Sprinkles. So I did what anyone would do, I stamped over it with Diamond Cosmetics Chain Mail.

Now I want you to notice...there is hardly even any tip wear...and you saw me say this was 4 days later...Yeah...Sarah makes a kick ass franken!

YAY!!! Pure Ice!

This is a pic heavy post. Lots to do!

I have some Pure Ice to show you. I got a package from Pure Ice! Pure Ice is manufactured by Bari Cosmetics. Enough of the business stuffs, on to the real reason you're here!!! PICS!

First off, I have Not Now. This is under lamp light. It is NOT color correct, but it gave off a magnificent metallic sheen which is visible under normal lights. Very cool color!

This is more color accurate. It is a lovely shade of emerald green. I've only recently gotten into green so I don't have one quite like it. The formula was great, I applied 2 thin coats, it could possibly be a one coater but I'd rather do 2 thin coats than 1 thick.

This picture is my favorite

The same day, I got Fantasy Fire from a friend. Everyone layers it over blue/purple/black. Being the rebel I am, I put it over Not Now. Turns out, it is perfect underwear. It made it flash green, which is just amazing.  (excuse the ding, I was having issues...)

So after the dingage, I had to do something else. It so happened I also received a Pure Ice Crackle called Lightning Strikes. This is HANDS DOWN the best crackle I have ever used. It would be a lot of trial and error with OPI and ChG. This one needed no coaxing and no special tricks. Just 1 coat, and it cracked. I wish I could find it around here.

Awesome polish, and I think awesome mani...what do you think?

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

ok, so this is a little late.

I know, I know...but better late than never. :)

I couldn't make up my mind about a St. Patricks Day mani, so I'll just post 2 that I did and took pictures of. The one I LOVED, I didn't get a picture of (if you can believe it).

This one is Orly Here Comes Trouble over Black stamped with Special White using BPM71

This was me screwing around not being able to make up my mind...
Pinky is Pure Ice Not Now topped with Pure Ice Crackle Lightning Strikes
Ring finger is Orly Au Champagne topped with a Monkey decal (many designs available here)
Middle finger is a water marble of Not Now, ChG Cha Cha Cha, and Au Champagne over Au Champagne.

Thanks!

Stampy Sunday 3/18 edition!

So the theme this week is "big floral". I don't really have any "big" flowers, they are all about regular sized, so i just did a full nail floral pattern. I had to use my new plate. I love this plate so much. So here is my mani!

This is China Glaze Stone Cold stamped with China Glaze 2NITE with DRK-A. I really liked how this turned out.

And just because, I had to TC an accent

Thanks!

Stampy Sunday 3/11 edition!

It's stampy sunday again! Today I have for you GG Light As A Feather Stamped with CC Catwalk Queen and Cheeky plate 12. I love LAAF. I am not the one to need back up bottles of polish. I don't reuse colors over and over again. But, I think I need another bottle.

Julep, why not?

I know lots of people have had issues with Julep. I haven't. I signed up for my first box in January. I got my initial maven box. I like the polish. Its decent quality. I like it. This is Megan and Rachel. Megan came in my January IT Girl maven box. I saw Rachel in the January box, but couldn't really afford it at the time. My friend Amarie @ Definitely Addicted had an extra and sent it to me, cause she's just that awesome!!!

woo, I got offtrack. This is Megan stamped with Rachel and MASH plate M78

more water color!

I love doing the watercolor effect. You can find my tutorial >>here<<.

First off, let me say I LOVE this polish. This is Revlon Matte Suede Powder Puff. It's got a neat texture. It's not quite matte, it's not quite suede. I couldn't get it to photograph, but there is a tiny bit of a blue sheen to it.

/drool
Ahh, ok, so on to the final look. This is Blair, Kelly, and Caitlyn.

Thanks for reading!!!

Stampy Sunday 3/4 edition!

It is Stampy Sunday, again!!! I love stamping. I stamp nearly every mani now. The challenge was a plate that ended in 4. Many of my 4 plates have been unused (score!!!)

So here's what I came up with. I happened to get my first Ozotics from the wonderful Sarah Claire over at Shatter me Claire (who is doing Franken March, you should give her a looksie) this week and threw it on immediately. So a base of Ozotics 515, stamped with Julep Charolette and Cheeky 14

And a blurry one, simply because I wanted to include it. have you ever taken 15-20 pictures of a mani and wanted to post ALL of them? that was this mani. You're lucky I only picked 3 instead of the 18 (yes, 18) that I wanted to post.
