Christmas in FEBRUARY?!?

Yeah, Christmas in February!!! These are the mani's I wore during Christmas week.

Both were done with Ziv, Logan, and Blaze over a random white.

I am excited, I FINALLY got Zoya Purity!!! I can't wait to use it as underwear!!!

THIS was amazing and awesome. I used Zoya Darcy, Thandi, Sooki, and Ibiza I reciprocal sponged like This tutorial from My Simple Little Pleasures I love her. I get sucked down a wormhole every single time I youtube her. Hers of course are much better than mine. But I still loved this mani.

Neon sponge

So as my boyfriend put it, this is VERY Lisa Frankish. This is using neons from a canadian brand called Billie and topped with Above the Curve You're Turning Ne-On.

I saw You're Turning Ne-On and immediately HAD to have it. It's AMAZING!

More PixieDust nail art (review)

 

I got my summer Zoya PixieDusts to review!!! I am so excited!

These are about the same as the last review with just a few exceptions.

Application was the same except MOST of these were 1 coat coverage. JUST one coat!!! I did 2 anyway because just one coat of polish feels wierd to me. The only one that NEEDED 2 coats was Stevie. (the purple) Liberty looked better with a second coat, also, but it wasn't a necessity. I only did quick swatches because EVERYONE does swatches. Removal was the same. As with the others, the PixieDusts are $9 but they are so much more than worth it. I love them so much.

 

The colors are pretty awesome.

Solange is a beautiful golden shade.

Beatrix is a vivid orange

Destiny is a coral-ly red

Miranda is a pinkish red

Stevie is a lovely shade of lilac with SILVER sparkles

Liberty is such a bright brilliant blue

 

Liberty is my favorite followed by Stevie and Miranda.

I was a little disappointed that there were 2 "reds" included when I kinda wanted a limish green. Vespa was included in the Winter release, but I want something a little yellower, not so pastel. maybe next set, Zoya? ;)

I loved how this turned out so much I did all 10 fingers. :D

I got the idea after seeing a pink and black eyeshadow look in one of my make up groups.

GOSSAMER!!!!!

Todays theme is Things that go bump in the night. (monsters) I wanted to be different. I thought of Gossamer. That giant red ball of fluff from the Looney Tunes. Monsters lead such interesting lives....

I love, love, LOVE how this gradient turned out. I will be doing this combo again. This is white, black, and red. with an accent sticker of Gossamer I printed out on my printer.

Halloween Gradient

I have fallen in love with gradients. they are sooooooo super easy. I have a tutorial >>HERE<<

So yeah, here is black, Puccilicious, and The Lime Starts Here, then I matted it because, well, it was already semi matte and looked awesome, so I just finished the job. :D

Ok, so this is only 1 witch. This is from the challenge. The theme of course was Witch.

This is OPI Cabana Banana, GOSH Golden Bronze, Milani Rad Purple, and Black sponge gradiented over white. I LOVE how this combination turned out. Very autumn-y. Accented with OPI Cabana Banana over white and 2 coats of China Glaze Sexagon seeing as Cabana Banana is so sheer, I thought the holo would shine through... I like the very subtle effect.
Also, notice Hazel from the Looney Tunes. :)

Stampy Sunday 6/3 edition!

WOW, it is June already! this year is flying faster than any others. Lets get down to the mani!!!

First off, I'm going to tell you, the pics are cellphone pics because neons do not photograph well using a regular camera and I am not good at messing with all the setting to get it right, and I don't like to edit pictures to change the color. now with THAT in mind...

The theme this week was a plate ending in 9. This is a sponged gradient of neons using the same technique I used here (Make up Sponge tutorial) using Color Club Get your Lem-on, & The Lime Starts Here, and Billie Electric Coral, Electric Fuschia, Electric Purple, & Blue.

 Now that first picture was taken under a "natural light" bulb, and it is not color accurate. But I LOVE how it dried semi matte. it was not full dull, just semi with a little bit of texture. I wore it like that for a full day before I stamped it.

 Here it is stamped with the new Mash 49 and ChG Frostbite.

Makeup Sponging tutorial

I found a new way to sponge. I love it, I am going to do more of it.

Ok, so not alot of you got that...I am a huge Doctor Who Fan. This is his TARDIS, printed out on vinyl stickers.

A spongy tutorial!!!

So, Kristin at The Manicured Monkey wanted some tips on how to sponge! This one is real easy!!!

First I paint my nails a base color. Usually the lightest color I am using, or if all my colors are pretty sheer, I use white. For this mani I used Color Club Yum Gum and Flormar U15.

Ok, so start off with a regular cheap kitchen sponge. I got this one in a 10 pack at the dollar store. Cut about 1/2 inch off the side, then cut about 1/4-1/2 inch off of that so you have a little square/rectangle.

 Then take an old, cheap, crappy pair of tweezers that never worked right anyway and grab onto the sponge. Dab some polish onto your work area. Some people use the back of stamping plates. I have a dollar store placemat that you can see is well used and has polish all over it. Dab the sponge in the polish and dab off the excess. If only doing a double color design start with the outermost edge and work towards the middle. If doing 3 or more colors same principle just decide how you want it to be but work from lightest to darkest. If you use white as a base you just have to be a little careful about how you sponge it and keep the colors where you want them.

This goes with this stamped haunted house manicure I did last week. It shows how I slightly overlapped the colors and only sponged where I wanted that color.
